Description:

A remnant of the failed attempt to create the Republic of the Rio Grande, the museum is housed in the building that was once the Republic's capital. It sits less than half a mile from the Mexico border, a mile east of Fort McIntosh. Exhibits at the museum include guns, saddles, household items from frontier homes during and near the time of the Republic, which existed between 1839 and 1840.
